Mountain biking along the new routes in
Nijmegen and Groesbeek
Tearing through sand, climbing steep hills and racing along wooded trails – in the Groesbeek woods you can do it all. The team at MTB Rijk van Nijmegen has worked tremendously hard to extend and improve the mountain biking routes in the region. And it has paid off: on the popular website mtbroutes.nl the routes in Nijmegen and Groesbeek have been voted into first and second place. Riders are thrilled by the green surroundings and by the difficulty of the course.

Two routes of 15 km each are now fully complete, and throughout the rest of 2020 work will continue on improving two further loops in the area around Nijmegen. You can already combine the routes in Nijmegen, Groesbeek, Mook and Malden effortlessly into a ride of more than 70 km. And the best part is that hotel-restaurant De Wolfsberg is the perfect starting point for a mountain biking trip. De Wolfsberg lies right on one of the routes!
Well-known mountain biking races such as the Hel van Groesbeek and Groesbeeks Gruwelijkste are held here every year, and the steep descent with its many tight bends, known among mountain bikers as the Traumapad, is also to be found in Groesbeek.

MTB skills training
A wonderful weekend enjoying the wooded surroundings of Nijmegen while discovering your MTB skills? We have an enjoyable, challenging clinic that is perfect for giving you a fine start in mountain biking. In one morning or afternoon you will learn how to descend in control, take tight bends and tackle steep climbs. You will of course learn the basic differences between flat-corner and bermed-corner technique. This is a perfect weekend away on your own, but certainly also with friends and family!
You will have plenty of opportunity to practise on the adventurous, narrow mountain biking routes of the Rijk van Nijmegen. We will guide you actively, including with a video analysis, so that you improve your position and your confidence effectively.
During the clinic you will also receive personal tips and exercises aimed specifically at your progress in mountain biking. This is your perfect stepping stone to a full-day MTB beginners clinic!

Looking for a challenge? The Rijk van Nijmegen is home to 4 challenging mountain biking routes totalling more than 70 km. Two of the routes have been completely renewed and the other two are scheduled for later this year. And mountain bikers have certainly noticed: in the poll on mtbroutes.nl the renewed routes are rated the highest of all mountain biking routes in the Netherlands.
That is hardly surprising, because with the Traumapad, the Cantecleergeul and the rhododendron climb these are challenging tracks through beautiful countryside in hilly terrain. The Groesbeek MTB route begins right outside our hotel.
